RCA or Radio Corporation of America was an electronic company that exist from 1919 to 1986. now, RCA trademark is owned by French conglomerate Thomson SA through RCA Trademark Management SA. This compony is owned by Thomson. RCA trademark is used by Sony Music Entertainment and Thomson SA which licenses the name to other companies like Audiovox and TCL Corporatio. RCA was created on the world war 1 to create American own radio company so that, the Navy would secure a commercial monopoly of long distance radio communication. On 1939, RCA demonstrated an all-electronic television system. RCA began selling television sets immediately after the world war 2 over. RCA labs was closely involved in RADAR and radio development effort in support of the war effort.
RCA connector is the type of electrical connector that commonly used in the audio or video market. this design was introduced by the early 1940 to allow mono phonograph players to be connected to amplifiers. in the most normal usage, cable have a standard plug on each end consisting of central male connector surrounded by the ring. the ring is created for flexibility. it also use as power connector an RF connector and as a connector for loudspeaker cables. teh disadvantage is RCA jack system is that each signal requires its plug. It also need four of RCA jack just for the simple case.
